Understanding and Working with Scoliosis Level I
September 19 – September 21, 2025 at Restorative Spot, in Elkhart, Indiana taught by Meredith Stevens
Scoliosis isn’t just a spinal issue, it is a total body pattern. Each pattern is unique and requires an individualized approach to make lasting changes in the body.
In this exciting new program for experienced massage therapists and Structural Integration Practitioners, we will discuss the three-dimensional nature of scoliosis, its etiology, diagnosis, progression, and treatment. Dr. Stephens combines concepts from structural integration and Schroth therapy with her knowledge of fascia and tensegrity to create a 3D , holistic treatment approach for a stronger, healthier and more lengthened alignment. Emphasis will be placed on using hands on soft tissue strategies to address restrictions and helping the client achieve the goals of improved body awareness, alignment, breath control and function in their daily lives.
In addition to traditional treatment on the table, this workshop will also introduce you to working with clients off the table in gravity to help them elongate their spine and address shortened tissues. We will be bringing in models to help you apply what you are learning with someone with scoliosis.
The course will focus on adults with adolescent idiopathic scoliosis (AIS) and adult degenerative scoliosis (ADS).

This class offers a neutral and welcoming language, with procedures for introducing your clients to BodyReading and make it fun as well as helpful for them.
This class explains biotensegrity as related to full body movement patterns, and research updates on the fascial system in injury, recovery, and optimum movement.

Sharron Wheeler Cranial with neck and baby night
June 22 – 26, 2026 at Restorative Spot, in Elkhart, Indiana taught by Sharon Wheeler
“Two handed torque” for the cranium will be taught. This delightful technique smooths out lumps, bumps, dents and distortions in the skull, nicely demonstrating the fluidity of spongy bone in the cranium. For the lower jaw and zygomatic arch, the “double pry bar” for width and balance will be taught. We will explore nose work, the eye sockets, the ears and ear cartilage, and the hyoid. Close attention will be given to the atlas/axis relationship and we will take a good look at the upper back and upper ribs and shoulders as they relate to this work.
From application of these direct techniques you may expect large amounts of structural change.

Sharron Wheeler Pelvis & Tail End
June 27 – 30, 2026 at Restorative Spot, in Elkhart, Indiana taught by Sharon Wheeler
The Tail End of the body seems to receive a generous number of accidental impacts. And these impacts can distort the relationship between the bones and distort the actual shape of the bones in the region; the sacrum, coccyx, pelvis, and femur. Many thanks to the equestrian who inspired this workshop.
Sharon will give a guided tour of structural landmarks through this complex region. These landmarks give you a guide to evaluate good structure from damaged structure. Relevant Structural Integration work will be reviewed as well as specialized BoneWork techniques for the remediation of any bent bones or badly healed breaks throughout this region. Students will be able to exchange sessions to receive help for their own Tail End troubles and we will have models for practice as well (with supervision).
Note: this course is intended for manual therapists of all backgrounds, including but not limited to, Structural Integrators
Class is limited to 6 people. Must be a structural Integrator to take this class

Sharron Wheelers Bone Work
June 16 – 20, 2025 at Restorative Spot, in Elkhart, Indiana taught by Sharon Wheeler
BoneWork is Sharon’s original discovery and one that she is continually developing and expanding on. The discovery was lady luck, followed by years of observation and experimentation.
Bone Rolling and Bone Change will be demonstrated in class. They are simple to learn and easy to do.
The work is rarely painful – even for recently broken bones, and the amount of change in one intervention is extensive. The cosmetic effect is delightful and the functional changes can be profound. The improvements appear to be permanent.
Practitioners will learn these techniques well enough to take them home and use them the next day in their private practices. BoneWork can fit seamlessly into an SI series or be used as a stand-alone intervention session.
